Synopsis For Massachusetts And Rhode Island Coastal Waters... High pres will briefly build across the northeast tonight and Tue. This high pres will move NE Tue night...while a low pres from the se states heads up the coast. A coastal front will try to move across the waters Wed...with a second low pres expected to form S of New England and lift across the waters Wed night. This low pres will likely deepen into a gale center as it heads into the Maritimes Thu into Fri. Another high pres should build back into the northeast on Sat. Overnight... W winds 15 to 20 kt...diminishing to 10 to 15 kt late. Gusts up to 25 kt. Waves 1 to 2 ft.
Tue... W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt...becoming SW 5 to 10 kt in the late morning and afternoon. Waves 1 foot or less.
Tue Night... NW winds 5 to 10 kt...becoming NE 10 to 15 kt after midnight. Waves 1 foot or less. A chance of snow in the evening... then snow and rain after midnight. Vsby 1 to 3 nm.
Wed... NE winds 15 to 20 kt...increasing to 20 to 25 kt in the late morning and afternoon. Gusts up to 30 kt. Waves 2 to 3 ft. Rain...sleet and snow in the morning...then rain with a chance of sleet in the afternoon. Vsby 1 to 3 nm in the morning.
Wed Night... NE winds around 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt... becoming W late. Waves around 2 ft. At the Outer Harbor entrance...waves 4 to 6 ft...subsiding to 2 to 4 ft after midnight. Rain in the evening...then rain likely with a chance of snow after midnight with vsby 1 to 3 nm.
Thu... W winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Waves 2 to 3 ft. A chance of snow showers in the morning...then a chance of rain and snow showers in the afternoon. Vsby 1 to 3 nm.
Thu Night... W winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Waves around 2 ft.
Fri... W winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Waves around 2 ft.
