Special Weather Statement
Issued by the National Weather Service at 11:03 PM CDT on March 18, 2010

... Windy... cold and wet weather on the way for the weekend...

A strong cold front accompanied with showers and thunderstorms are
expected to reach the Interstate 20 corridor around midnight
Friday... and the Interstate 10 corridor just before sunrise
Saturday. High temperatures on Saturday will range from 37 to 40
degrees across the Big Country and the mid and upper 40s across
the remainder of west central Texas.

The strong north winds and the chilly temperatures will result in wind
chills in the 20s and 30s on Saturday. Along with the
precipitation... this drastic change in weather will likely produce
stress on livestock... pets... and tender vegetation.

By Sunday morning... most temperatures across west central Texas
will be at or below the freezing mark. Sunday night... freezing
temperatures are also possible... mainly along and south of a line
from Sterling City to Brownwood.

Friday will be a good day to make final preparations to prepare
for the upcoming change to colder temperatures.
