Short-term forecastIssued by the National Weather Service at 5:32 PM CDT on August 7, 2008
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue this afternoon and evening north of a line from Breckenridge...to Denton...to Cooper. Brief heavy rainfall and wind gusts to 40 mph will accompany the stronger storms. A few storms may produce small hail as well. Storms are moving slowly so rainfall amounts may range from a trace to over an inch. The showers and storms are expected to continue to develop further south through the afternoon and evening hours along an outflow boundary that should be moving south this evening. Elsewhere across North Texas....hot and humid conditions will persist.
