Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue across portions of the western Eddy County plains...Guadalupe and Davis Mountains...Van Horn corridor...and Rio Grande River valley through 900 PM CDT this evening. Brief heavy rainfall...occasional lightning...and gusty winds will accompany the strongest storms. At 724 PM CDT...the most frequent lightning was observed near Pine Springs...and south along State Highway 54. These storms were nearly stationary and weakening. Further south...a few other storms were located near Casa Piedra and just southwest of Marfa. These storms were also dissipating.
